Paul’s stripped four-part BBC1 drama ONE NIGHT won the Reflet D’Or for Best Drama Series at the Festival Tous Ecrans as well as making the official selection for FIPA Biarritz. Lead writer on Jam Media/CBBC’s pioneering mixed live action/animation series ROY (the first series winning the RTS Award for Best Children’s Drama), Paul also wrote ten-part CBBC teen drama series DESPERADOS (Prix Jeunesse winner) about a junior wheelchair basketball team. Other credits include two BBC1 Afternoon Plays (TEA WITH BETTY and DEATH BECOMES HIM); ITV comedy drama THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO PARENTING; the Sunday serial dramatisation of BOOTLEG (BAFTA Children’s Drama Award); and BBC1 children’s thriller series OSCAR CHARLIE. Paul has also written episodes of MURDER MOST HORRID, GRANGE HILL, BRITTAS EMPIRE, SPITTING IMAGE, SMITH AND JONES, and, with Terry Kyan, COLIN’S SANDWICH (2 series) and ABOUT FACE. He has recently been developing an original drama series with Hilary Salmon for AMC Studios.
